Mounting of Baseplates on the deck of a pontoon. Typically a sub plate can be mounted near the edge of the pontoon and a short 8.25 inch baseplate can be used. If more room is available, the 12 inch baseplate will give more options.
Sub plates are 4 inches square and 3/8 inch tall so they are very low profile when on the deck.
Alternatively, users can mount on the upper rail system using the Clamping sub plate. However this will mean a very long downrod and thus it is not recommended to use for fast trolling. Max speed is 1 to 2 mph when mounted in this location.
